PLAT-I in the Media

The PLAT-I platform has drawn interest from the media since it's installation near Connel bridge in November 2017. Over the past few months film crews from both BBC Alba and Deutsche Welle have visited the site and interviewed staff from both SME and our partner SCHOTTEL Hydro along with some of the visitors who have been evaluating the technology.

Andreas Wolff from BBC Alba spent two days in Connel exploring the PLAT-I platform and discussing how it works with our staff. The result was the TV spot below which was orginally broadcast on An Lá the Gealic lanuguage news programme on BBC Alba. Andreas did a great job considering that he was the cameraman and sound engineer as well as being infront of the camera.

Christian Priceilus, a video journailist from Deutsche Welle, visited Connel after almost a year spent filming with our partner SCHOTTEL Hydro at their head office in Spey and manufacturing facility in Dorth, Germany. Deutsche Welle is an international English language German public broadcaster. Christian followed the process of selecting a site through manufacture and delivery of the turbines, and finally installation for a spot on the business news magazine programme "Made in Germany".

With such a short time on television it has been impossible to aknowledge the great number of people in SME and SCHOTTEL's teams. We owe a big thank you to all of them who have worked incredibly hard over the past year to make this project a reality.
